1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of the SelfSight iOS app, selfsight.org, accounts, subscriptions, support, and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by the adult operator identified in section 12 ("SelfSight," "we," "us"). SelfSight is a service name, not a separately registered legal person.

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian who can agree to these Terms for you where required by law. External AI involving HealthKit or other sensitive context is initially available only to eligible users verified as at least 18. Feature availability may also depend on location, device, subscription, consent, and provider approval.

2. Accounts, device security, and app license

Local features may be available without an account. Sign in with Apple is required for account-based features such as support and may be required for sync or external AI. You must protect your device, passcode, and Apple account and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account except to the extent caused by our failure to meet a legal duty.

Subject to these Terms and applicable Apple rules, you receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control. You may not sell, sublicense, scrape, overload, interfere with, bypass security or entitlement controls, extract source code, or reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Accepting these Terms does not grant consent to HealthKit, Screen Time, location, cloud sync, or external AI. Those choices are requested separately. Granting one permission does not grant another.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of your intentions, journal entries, support messages, images, and other content. You grant SelfSight a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, encrypt, transmit, reproduce, and otherwise process that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the features you request. This license ends when content is deleted from active systems, subject to lawful retention and time-limited backups described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the right to submit content. Do not submit unlawful material, malware, infringing content, or another person's personal or sensitive information without authority. Support images and messages are visible to authorized support personnel. Journal free text, intention titles and notes, and support content are not sent in the external AI model prompt.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to violate law or another person's rights; harm, threaten, harass, exploit, or impersonate others; probe or defeat security; interfere with availability; automate access without permission; misuse support; evade subscriptions, quotas, or eligibility controls; or use outputs to make high-impact decisions about another person. We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate protective action.

5. Wellness, medical, emergency, and AI limitations

SelfSight is a personal-awareness and journaling tool. It is not a medical device, healthcare provider, therapist, crisis service, or emergency service and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or professional medical, mental-health, legal, or other advice. Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of the Service. If you may be in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.

Pattern chains, confidence scores, summaries, recommendations, experiments, and AI-generated text are probabilistic. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or misleading. Correlation does not establish causation. Treat outputs as prompts for reflection, not facts, instructions, or a basis for medical, therapeutic, crisis, legal, financial, employment, insurance, or other high-impact decisions.

External AI is optional, off by default, and requires separate explicit consent and eligibility. It remains unavailable unless the provider, legal, age, jurisdiction, subscription, and technical gates described in the Privacy Policy pass. No AI provider or output is a healthcare professional.

6. SelfSight+ subscriptions and purchases

SelfSight+ may be offered as automatically renewing monthly and annual subscriptions through Apple's App Store. The price inclusive of applicable taxes, billing period, introductory offer or trial (if any), and renewal terms are shown in Apple's purchase interface before confirmation. Apple processes payment and manages the transaction under the user's App Store account and applicable Apple terms. If digital service delivery begins during a statutory withdrawal period, any limitation of that right applies only where the applicable purchase flow has obtained the express request and acknowledgement required by law.

Unless cancelled, the subscription renews as disclosed by Apple. You can manage or cancel it through Apple subscription settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Apple handles refund requests and billing disputes through its systems, subject to mandatory consumer law. Nothing in these Terms removes a cancellation, refund, withdrawal, information, or other consumer right that applicable law does not allow us or Apple to limit.

Deleting the app, signing out, disabling sync, or deleting a SelfSight account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it separately through Apple. Paid access may end when the entitlement expires. Restore Purchases may restore an eligible purchase. Prices, trial availability, and offers can vary by country and App Store account and are governed by what Apple displays at purchase.

7. Changes, updates, and availability

Feature limits, platform requirements, free and paid features, and suppliers may change. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue a feature for development, security, legal, provider, or operational reasons. For a paid digital service, a change is made without extra cost, for a valid reason, and with clear advance notice. If a change materially reduces your access to or use of the paid service, you have the right to terminate the affected contract without cost within the period required by applicable consumer law, unless the reduction is only minor. We will provide notice, continued access, termination rights, refunds, or other remedies where applicable law requires them. Roadmap, beta, and launch statements are plans, not guarantees.

The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, device restrictions, network or supplier failure, legal requirements, or events outside reasonable control. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability or that the app will generate an insight from every data set. Install required updates and keep independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose.

8. Third-party services and Apple terms

The Service relies on third parties described in the Privacy Policy, including Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and EmailOctopus. Scaleway and Tavily may be used only for optional features after the applicable release gates pass. Third-party terms and privacy notices may apply separately. We remain responsible for our own obligations and do not exclude responsibility where law makes us responsible for a supplier.

Your use of Apple software and services is subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement and App Store rules. These Terms are between you and the SelfSight operator, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.

To the extent a warranty applies and is not effectively disclaimed, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the app, if any, as provided by Apple's terms. The SelfSight operator, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims, subject to applicable law.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-related provisions. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a relevant U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not listed on a relevant U.S. Government prohibited or restricted-party list.

The app also uses third-party and open-source software. The relevant copyright and license terms remain with their owners and are not replaced by these Terms.

9. SelfSight intellectual property and feedback

Except for your content and third-party material, the SelfSight operator and applicable licensors own or lawfully use the Service, software, design, branding, and related intellectual property. No ownership is transferred to you. If you voluntarily provide feedback, you permit its use to develop and improve the Service without compensation, but SelfSight will not identify you publicly without permission.

10. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time. Local records can be deleted in the app. Signed-in users can use Delete Account in Settings. Account deletion is designed to remove the Supabase Auth account and associated active SelfSight records and then erase local records and encryption material. It does not cancel an App Store subscription or erase independent Apple App Store or RevenueCat transaction records, which may remain under their own legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or retention obligations. Limited transaction, security, fraud-prevention, incident, legal, or time-limited backup records may remain where permitted or required. Export anything you need first and cancel an App Store subscription separately.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a material or repeated breach, unlawful or abusive use, security risk, unpaid subscription, supplier or legal restriction, or risk to users or systems. Where reasonable and legally required, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, accrued payment obligations, liability, and disputes—continue after termination.

11. Responsibility, warranties, and liability

SelfSight will provide the Service with the care required by applicable law. Digital services, device data, external providers, and probabilistic insights can nevertheless contain errors or experience interruptions. Except for rights and warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis without a promise that every feature will be uninterrupted or suitable for a particular personal purpose.

You remain responsible for decisions you make using the Service. SelfSight is not responsible for loss caused solely by ignoring the limitations in section 5, unauthorized device or account access outside SelfSight's reasonable control, incompatible or modified devices, or third-party services beyond SelfSight's legal responsibility.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SelfSight is not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed, or for business losses arising from consumer use. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion is prohibited, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where applicable, fraud, a non-excludable data-protection or confidentiality duty, or mandatory Swedish or EEA consumer rights.

12. Governing law, disputes, changes, and contact

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, you also retain mandatory protections and access to courts under the law of your habitual residence. Nothing here requires arbitration or prevents you from contacting a competent consumer authority, data-protection authority, or court.

Please first contact legal@selfsight.org so we can try to resolve a complaint. Swedish consumers may also contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes, Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), at arn.se, where its eligibility requirements are met.

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited only as necessary and the remaining Terms continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may transfer these Terms as part of a genuine sale, reorganization, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable notice and data-protection requirements.

We may update these Terms prospectively. We will publish a new effective date and provide additional notice or obtain agreement where required. Continued use alone will count as acceptance only where applicable law permits it.
